Reason for the centre
Pastor Theo Pretorius had a passion to take care of people, not only spiritually, but in all aspects of their welfare. He established Jacaranda Care Centre in 1998 and is still pursuing that same goal. The centre ensures a warm welcome to destitute people who consist of spiritual and physically handicapped people, families with children and elderly people.
Our aim is to provide and support people who are in need of spiritual and moral encouragement to help them cope in this difficult time of their life. The centre works closely with crisis centres and various welfare institutions to provide a home for destitute people. To build up and motivate them to take their respective places in the community again.

What we do
We currently take care of 71 residents, consisting of 57 adults and 11 children of all ages. Daily meals, clothes, transport to clinics and stability are offered to our residents. Our residents meet every day in the week from 8:00 - 09:00 am for Bible study and prayer.
expenses
The rent and electricity at our current premises is R 17 300-00 monthly. The telephone bill average about R 3 000-00. to enable our resident staff to contact companies and individuals telephonic-ally and via e-mail for financial and other contributions. Fuel expenses estimate around R 5 500-00 per month. We can only cover our expenses with your assistance.

Shortcomings
We have an urgent need of companies and individuals willing to sponsor us with beds, clothing, tools, kitchen appliances, kitchen tables, table cloths, towels, personal hygiene items, garden tools, a lawn mower, deep freezers, refrigerators, house cleaning products, coffee, tea, sugar, fruits & veggies, meat etc.
